Private Residence Amps Up with Bespoke indoor/outdoor Audio System

Backstage AV and L&M Sound and Light designed and deployed a bespoke audio system for a private residence along the ocean in New Jersey. The indoor/outdoor entertainment space was designed to entertain outdoors with a flex bar and lounge space that can be transformed with its retractable floor-to-ceiling windows. The goal was to create a listening system with full coverage for the different uses that has the headroom and impact for hosting events.

B|AV was contracted as the AV integrator, integrating the security system, lighting, and doing the networking. Local to the area, they brought on L&M Sound and Light to help achieve a premium audio system. Together, they chose 1 SOUND to deliver the sonic experience the client was looking for while designing the aesthetic of the loudspeakers as elegantly as the construction of the wooden home. Contour CT28s were deployed for the main bar area facing into the backyard, where they were recessed into the wall using 1 SOUND’s Ceiling Tile Accessory as a flush grille to conceal the loudspeaker. The same recess work was used for the WSUB45s concealed in the walls as well. Tower LCC44s were supported in areas that required wide coverage with less of a far throw. In a lounge area, Level L35s were selected and recessed into the ceiling as they offered ideal coverage and were a solution that would not disrupt the sight line of the designed space. For the yard, Contour CT28s were deployed with stainless steel 316 Wall Brackets and SUB12s hidden throughout the gardens.

With the 1 SOUND Custom Shop, they were able to custom match the wood finishes that constructed the residence and deployed wood finish loudspeakers throughout the property. Resulting in an elegant-sounding and looking audio system designed for music listening and events with even coverage throughout the zones.
