From Madison Modern to OLS: A Hospitality Concept Built on Great Sound

When Madison Modern Social first opened in Old Bridge, New Jersey, B|R Hospitality set out to create more than another upscale restaurant. The vision was a destination that could transition effortlessly from refined daytime dining to lively evenings with live jazz performances, DJs, and a vibrant nightlife atmosphere while maintaining the elevated hospitality guests expect.
To support that vision, B|R Hospitality partnered with Global AV Group to design and integrate a premium distributed audio system built around 1 SOUND loudspeakers. The system delivers consistent, balanced sound throughout the venue, creating an intimate atmosphere during lunch service while providing the output and impact needed as the energy builds throughout the evening.
The success of that installation inspired the restaurant's next chapter. Connected through a hidden entrance inside Madison Modern Social, OLS (Our Little Secret) has officially opened as an intimate luxury speakeasy, extending the guest journey beyond the dining room into an entirely new hospitality destination.
A Restaurant Designed to Transform Throughout the Day
Madison Modern Social was designed around versatility.
Throughout the day, the restaurant provides a refined dining atmosphere where conversation remains comfortable and music complements the environment. As evening arrives, the venue transforms into a lively destination featuring live jazz performances, DJs, and elevated nightlife.
Creating an audio system capable of supporting both atmospheres required thoughtful system design rather than simply increasing volume.
Global AV Group deployed Cannon C8 loudspeakers throughout the restaurant, paired with SUB310 subwoofers to provide the low-frequency impact needed for evening entertainment while maintaining clarity and balance during daytime service.
The distributed deployment creates consistent coverage from the moment guests enter, carrying the same sonic character through each dining room. The result is an audio environment that feels cohesive regardless of where guests are seated, with the Cannon Series delivering exceptional midrange clarity alongside the dynamic output required for higher-energy evenings.
A Hidden Lounge with Its Own Identity
Following the success of Madison Modern Social, B|R Hospitality expanded the concept with OLS (Our Little Secret), a hidden speakeasy tucked discreetly beside the restaurant. Accessible through a concealed entrance, the lounge offers a refined take on the classic speakeasy, pairing moody lighting, a striking marble bar, and an atmosphere of exclusivity that feels like discovering something not everyone knows about.
Designed by Celano Design Studio, OLS was created as the perfect complement to Madison Modern. While the restaurant transitions from dining to lively evenings, the intimate lounge extends the night with handcrafted cocktails, conversation, and elevated entertainment in a space with its own distinct personality.
Audio Designed for Both Destinations
To support the atmosphere of OLS, Global AV Group once again partnered with 1 SOUND to create an audio system that complements the lounge's intimate scale while delivering the energy expected later in the evening.
The installation combines Contour CT28 loudspeakers, custom-finished Cannon C8 loudspeakers, and SUB310 subwoofers to provide high-energy impact throughout the space. Finished through the 1 SOUND Custom Shop, the loudspeakers complement the carefully designed interior while delivering the output needed for cocktails, conversation, DJs, and late-night entertainment.
Together, Madison Modern Social and OLS demonstrate how thoughtfully integrated audio can support multiple hospitality environments under one concept, creating a seamless transition from upscale dining to an exclusive speakeasy while maintaining a consistently premium listening experience.
