Iconic Miami Steakhouse, Papi Steak, Upgrades Audio System to Custom 1 SOUND

Anthem Productions deploys 1 SOUND Custom Shop loudspeakers in a restaurant’s new audio design, incorporating 1 SOUND Mono + Stereo Technology and a subwoofer array.

David Grutman and David “Papi” Einhorn’s iconic steakhouse in Miami, Papi Steak, rides on their consistent success due to their perfected dining experience, making their customers feel like a thousand bucks. Papi Steak offers the VIP experience to their restaurant goers who have a high chance of sitting at a table next to a celebrity on any given night.

Groot Hospitality is familiar with 1 SOUND having installed 1 SOUND loudspeakers in their other locations Strawberry Moon, The Key Club, and their latest with Bad Bunny, Gekko, all within the last year. Based on the instant success of their latest work on Gekko which offers a nightclub ‘going-out’ feel in the restaurant, Groot decided to update the audio system at their most popular restaurant, Papi Steak.

Anthem Productions, who has done the audio integrations for several of David Gruttman’s restaurants, handled the audio design for Papi Steak.

“Going into Papi Steak we were aiming to really ‘wow’ the client. We felt like it was an opportunity to do for them what they do for their clientele and go above and beyond. So we did an audio design that included 1 SOUND’s Mono + Stereo [MS34] loudspeakers and pitched custom color speakers to match the restaurant’s interior. 1 SOUND was able to turn over renderings of the custom colored speakers quickly so I was able to present the idea to the client for the meeting that same week.”

Anthem Production’s design consisted of Tower LCC44’s, mounted and aimed using LCC44 Wall Brackets, Cannon C5i’s, and Panorama MS34’s. The Towers were used when wider coverage was wanted and gave the dining space the SPL and impact needed for when they serve their $1,000 steak, where the DJ turns up the music as the staff walks out to serve it as they would for bottle service at a nightclub. Six Panorama MS34’s were utilized in spaces where they wanted stereo but there were limited opportunities for speaker placements. The Panoramas were used in Mono + Stereo mode running off one M+S Controller module, giving the tables in their field true stereo from one source. The Panorama and Cannon Loudspeakers were hung with the respective C-Clamps that were also custom-colored to match the speakers.

Anthem’s audio design included a subwoofer array utilizing five WSUB45’s that were mounted to the ceiling using C-Clamp Kit. These Wall Subs covered the dining area and disappeared into the treated ceiling. Two SUB310’s were installed under banquets near the bar for distributed bass.
